Do you want to transfer the domain to your Dynadot account?  You can certainly do that!

What are the steps involved in the domain transfer process?

There are a few "prep steps" we recommend doing before you start the domain transfer process, followed by the "next steps" outlined below:

Prep Steps:

  1. Make sure your domain is older than 60 days, i.e. has been registered longer than 60 days and has not been transferred within the last 60 days.
  2. Make sure your domain is not about to expire. Although the transfer may go through even if your domain expires during it, there is no guarantee that will be the case. We recommend initiating the domain transfer at least 2 weeks before the expiration date.
  3. Double check that your Whois email address is accurate and accessible. This is where we will send the transfer authorization email. If you can't get to this email to authorize the transfer, the process will be not be able to complete.

Next Steps:

  1. Submit a domain transfer order for the domain or domains (we also offer bulk transfers) you wish to transfer.
  2. Once we have received payment, we will do a Whois lookup for your domain. Then we will send you an email to authorize the domain transfer to the email address listed in the Whois. This is to prevent a domain from being transferred without the domain owner's permission.
  3. Your previous registrar may contact you to confirm the domain transfer. If you want the domain transfer to continue, tell them yes, you authorized the transfer.
  4. Your previous registrar approves the transfer. The central registry changes the registrar for your domain to Dynadot. We add the domain to your account and notify you through email.

Transfers can take anywhere from 5-15 days, depending on how fast each step can be completed.

Excellent!  Glad to hear it.

How do I set up my domain with Blogger or Blogspot?

To set up your domain with Blogger or Blogspot, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
  2. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down.
  3. Check the box next to your domain name(s) and click on the "Action" button.
  4. Choose "DNS Settings" from the "Action" list.
  5. On the DNS page, select "Dynadot DNS" from the top drop-down menu.
  6. In the "Domain Record (optional)" field, select "A" from the drop-down menu and enter Google's IP 216.239.32.21 in the "IP Address or Target Host" box.
  7. Repeat the same steps and create 3 additional A records pointing to IP addresses 216.239.34.21, 216.239.36.21, and 216.239.38.21.
  8. In the "Subdomain Records (optional) field", enter "www" as the subdomain record, select "CNAME" from the drop-down menu, and enter ghs.google.com under the "IP Address or Target Host" box. Please note Blogger may ask you to enter another CNAME record. You can verify their current settings here.
  9. Press the "Save Settings" button to save your changes.

Please be aware that it might take some time for your name server changes to propagate.

Next, you will need to configure your settings with Blogger:

  1. Sign in to your Blogger account.
  2. Navigate to Dashboard, Settings, Publishing, Add a custom domain, and Switch to advanced settings.
  3. In the "Advanced Settings" box, type in www.yourdomain.ext (For example: www.dynadot.com).
  4. Press the Save button to save your changes.
