Few Questions
11/26/2007 00:26
Hi, I bought a domain with webhosting here - However, I want to keep the domain, but use a different hosts webhosting.

I already changed the nameservers - I am using the other host for PHPNuke.

I am now waiting for it to update, is that all I do?

It works with it like this: http://mywebsite.com but not when I use www. Why is that?

Thanks

Yes, you would just need to wait for the name server changes to take effect. The update usually happens within half an hour, but it can take longer to view your actual site due to caching of the old name server settings on your computer or by your ISP.

How do I change my Dynadot account email address?

Since we send you emails about renewing your domains, we recommend making sure you use an accessible email address as your account email. We also do not recommend using one attached to a domain within your account because you won't be able to access that email if your domain expires.

To change your account email, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
  2. Select "My Info" from the left-side menu bar and click "Account Settings" in the drop-down.
  3. You will see your current email address listed under the "Account Info" section.
  4. Click on the "Edit Info" button. You will be prompted to unlock your account.
  5. You can then edit your email address.
  6. Click on the "Save" button at the top-right corner to save your changes.

Please note that updating your account information will not affect your Whois contact record(s). See more info about the difference between account info and contact records.

For future reference, there is a method of clearing the lookup cache on your local computer (assuming you're using Windows 95 or later)
Simply:
1. Start > Run
2. Then type (without the "") "ipconfig /flushdns"
3. Press Enter

This will empty the local cache of the lookup. Please note some MODEMs and other devices will also have their own cache and it will not clear the ISPs cache.
