Dynadot Help
Why do you need a Security PIN and secret question and answer from me?
Dynadot takes your account security seriously. For accounts created before August 18, 2026, a Security PIN is required to unlock your account. The 4-digit security PIN should be easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess as we will ask for it during certain account functions such as editing your account info and unlocking your domains.
If you forget your Security PIN, you'll need to submit a forget Security PIN request, and you can choose which question to answer. If you enter an incorrect answer when resetting your Security PIN, you can attempt another secret question as a backup. Secret questions and answers can only be changed once every 30 days.
Important Update (Effective August 18, 2026):
For accounts created on or after August 18, 2026, a Security PIN is no longer used for account unlocking. Instead, your account password is used to unlock the account.
New accounts are also not required to set security questions by default. If you choose to set them, you can manage your security questions from the Security page.
Want to add even more security to your account? Add Google Authenticator and/or SMS Authenticator to your account.
