Dynadot Help
How do I update my secret question and answer?
Security questions provide a critical backup verification method for your Dynadot account. If you ever forget your Security PIN, lose access to your device/authenticator, or suspect unauthorized activity, your answers act as a trusted key to prove your identity and securely recover your account.
To set or change your secret questions and answers, please follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Dynadot account.
- Select "Security" from the "My Info" drop-down menu.
- Scroll down to the "Set Security Question" section.
- Select three questions from the drop-down menu and enter your unique answers. (Answers are case-sensitive)
- Click "Save Changes" button to apply your updates.
Notes:
- Secret questions and answers can only be changed once every 30 days. Choose carefully, as you will not be able to change them again until the 30 days cooldown period ends.
- Memorize your answers! They are what you will use to prove ownership during account recovery. It is recommended to write them down in a secure place or use a trusted password manager.
We highly recommend adding two-factor authentication (2FA) for the highest level of protection. With 2FA, even if someone discovers your password, they cannot log in without the time-sensitive code from your authenticator app or SMS. To enable it, return to the "Security" page and find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section.
