  • How do I install the LAMP software bundle (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) on CentOS VPS Hosting?

    Once you SSH into your VPS Hosting, type the following commands to have LAMP installed: Install Apache yum install httpd chkconfig httpd on service httpd start Install MySQL Database Server In the last step when installing mysql, you will be asked to set a root MySQL password. You will also be asked to remove anonymous users, disallow root login remotely, and a few other questions. Answer "yes" all the way to the last question and the installation is finished. yum install mysql-server mysql php-mysql php -y service mysqld start chkconfig --levels 235 mysqld on /usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation The LAMP installation is done. Visit your default page: http://[IP Address] or http://[domain name]

  • How do I upload via FTP to my VPS Hosting with ZPanel or Sentora?

    To create an FTP account in your Sentora control panel, please follow the steps shown here: Open your Sentora control, visible at your VPS IP address. From the 'Home' screen, click the 'FTP Accounts' icon in the 'File Management' section. Choose a username and password for the account. Enter those in the provided fields. Select "Full Access" from the drop-down menu. For the "Home directory" option, make sure you select the 'Use Domain directory' option, then find and select the appropriate domain name from the drop-down menu. Press the 'Create' button. You should now see your FTP information listed on the page. This video demonstrates how to upload via FTP to your VPS Hosting with zPanel or Sentora.

  • How do I restart the FTP service in zPanel or Sentora for my VPS Hosting?

    To restart the FTP service for your zPanel or Sentora in your VPS Hosting, log in as root and enter: service proftpd restart Once your VPS returns Starting proftpd: [ OK ], the FTP service restart is complete. NOTE: The hostname needs to be a domain name, such as example.com.

  • Do you place advertisements on websites using your web hosting or website builder plans?

    No, we do not place any ads or banners on websites that use either our VPS Hosting or Email Hosting plans. We also do not place any ads on any of our Website Builder plans, including our free five page plan. If you are using our free one page hosting available through our name server settings (which may no longer be available in some accounts), then we do place advertisements on your website.

  • How can I set up my Advanced Hosting email to work with my iPhone?

    To set up your Advanced Hosting email on your iPhone, please follow these steps: First, retrieve your POP and SMTP settings in your cPanel account. Sign in to your cPanel account. Click on the "Email Accounts" icon under the "Mail" section. Find your email account and select "Configure Email Client" from the "More" drop-down menu. Use the "Non-SSL Settings" information. Next, grab your iPhone. Find and click on the "Settings" app on your iPhone. Click on the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section and then click on the "Add Account..." button. Scroll down and choose "Other". Under the Mail section, click on the "Add Mail Account" button. Enter the Name, Address, Password, and Description (it should show an example) and then hit the "Next" button. At the very top, make sure you choose the "POP" section. Enter the Incoming Mail Server host name, username, and password. Press the "Save" button. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server host name, username, and password. While your phone lists this information as "Optional", it is needed for your Dynadot email to work. Click on the "Save" button. A pop up window will appear stating "Cannot Verify Server Identity". This is okay, press "Continue". After what will likely be a bit of a wait, your phone may appear frozen, the same window will appear again. Press "Continue" a second time. The window should disappear quickly after this and return you to the page where you began. Send yourself a test email, you should now receive it on your iPhone. NOTE: If a pop-up window appears asking to continue without an SSL certificate, choose "Yes" and it will continue verifying. The pop-up window may come up more than once. Once the settings have finished verifying, you should be able to send an receive email from your iPhone. Please note that we no longer offer our Advanced Hosting product.   • How do I set up my Email Hosting email on my iPad?

    To set up your Email Hosting email with your iPad, please follow these steps: First, you should retrieve your POP3 and SMTP settings in your Email Hosting account. Find and tap the "Settings" app on your iPad. Tap "Mail" and then "Accounts." Tap "Add Account" and then scroll down and choose "Other". Under the "Mail" section, tap the "Add Mail Account" button. Enter the Name, Address, Password, and Description (it should show an example) and then hit the "Next" button. At the very top, make sure you choose the "POP" section. (IMPORTANT NOTE: You must choose POP as IMAP will NOT work). Enter the Incoming Mail Server host name, username, and password. Press the "Save" button. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server host name, username, and password. While your iPad lists this information as "Optional", it is needed for your Dynadot email to work. Press the "Save" button.   • My domain is registered at Dynadot and I also use your Email Web Hosting plan. How do I set my domain's name server settings to use my Dynadot Email Web Hosting plan?

    To use your Dynadot Email Web Hosting plan, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Manage" from the "Domains" drop-down menu. Check the box next to your domain name(s) and click on the "Name Servers" icon. Click on the "Dynadot Hosting" tab. Select "Email Web Hosting" from the list of choices (we no longer sell new Advanced Hosting plans). Click on the "Use Dynadot Hosting" button to save your changes. Please be aware that it might take some time for your name server changes to propagate. NOTE: These instructions are only for setting up your domain with our Email or Advanced Hosting.   • How do I access my domain email in Email Hosting?

    To access your domain email in Email Hosting, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select the "Hosting" tab in the main menu. Click on the "Edit Website" link under the "Edit Site" column. A new page should load in a new browser window. Click on the "Mailbox" tab in the main menu. You should see your email addresses on that page. Click on an email address to access that email address's folders and settings.     To change the hostname for your VPS Hosting, log in as root and enter: hostname [example.com] NOTE: This will not update the name listed in your Dynadot account which will remain as it was when you ordered the VPS plan.

When you purchased your plan, you were asked to enter a domain name; however, you still need to set up DNS for that domain from within your Dynadot account to connect it to your VPS Hosting plan. To set up your domain with VPS Hosting, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Manage" from the "Domains" drop-down menu. Check the box next to your domain name and click on the "Name Servers" icon. Click on the "DNS" tab. Create an A record and enter the VPS IP address given to you in the "VPS Hosting Created" email you received after your order completed. Click on the "Save DNS" button to save your changes.
