- Do you charge an ICANN fee on top of your domain registration fee?
No, we do not charge a ICANN fee on top of our domain registration fee. All fees are included in our domain prices; you won't see any additional fees added at checkout. We believe in transparent domain pricing. Check out our domain price list.
- How do I restore my domain in redemption period?
If the grace renewal period of your domain has already passed, you may still be able to restore the domain. Unfortunately, this is not guaranteed and will cost more because the domain has already been deleted. To restore your domain, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click on "Inactive Domains" from the drop-down. Check the box next to the domain name(s) you wish to restore and click on the "Bulk Auction" button. If the domain name(s) do not have a checkbox next to them, they cannot be restored. Click on the "Restore" button. The domain(s) will be added to your shopping cart at the top right-side of the page. Click on your shopping cart to access the item(s) in your cart. Press the "Check Out" buttons to submit your restore order. NOTE: A restore order can take up to 24 hours to process. In most cases, a restore can be done within 30 days (the typical redemption period of most domain extensions) after the renewal grace period (typically 40 days) has ended. However, sometimes a domain is purchased in our expired auctions and as a result, it cannot be restored. Find out more about the domain lifecycle.
- What is a domain hack?
A domain hack is a domain that combines the domain name with the top-level domain (TLD) to spell out a word or saying such as ComeWith.ME. There are many TLDs that can be used to create domain hacks. Most of our new TLDs can be used to create sayings as many of them are words such as .CAB or .HIPHOP. You can create domain hacks such as GrabA.CAB or Ilove.HIPHOP. Check out our list of domain hack TLDs or see our full list of TLDs to find more awesome domain hack opportunities! You can also see more examples in our domain hacks blog post.
- Can I get my $10 late-renewal fee waived?
As of April 15, 2017, domains in their last 10 days of grace renewal period will be charged a $10 late-renewal fee. Since this is a new policy, this fee may be waived once per account at our discretion during the transition period. The transition period will run from April 15, 2017 - December 31, 2017 only.
- How do I change my domain privacy in bulk?
We recently added the ability to hide your name (in addition to email, phone, and address) in our domain privacy service. Although new registrations with privacy will automatically default to full privacy, registrations that had privacy before the new privacy was added are set to partial privacy (meaning the name is not private). To change your domain privacy in bulk, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Click “My Domains”, then “Manage Domains” from the left-side menu bar. Check the boxes next to the domain names for which you wish to adjust privacy. To select all your domains, check the box at the top of the frame. Click "Bulk Action", then "Privacy Settings". Choose your desired privacy status in the drop-down menu. Click on the "Submit" button to save your changes. Please keep in mind that it may take a few days for Whois database to be updated to your altered Whois contacts. If you do not yet have privacy, and would like to add it for your domains, please refer to our help file on how to add domain privacy in bulk.
- Why is my website offline?
There are many reasons why you may not be able to see your website. The majority of these reasons fall into these 4 categories: If you recently set your name servers, your settings may not have propagated yet. You can do an IP lookup in your Dynadot account to see if your new name server settings have been propagated through the system. If they haven't propagated yet, you'll see a "name servers misconfigured" error. The website or the old name server settings for your domain are cached. If you aren't getting the "name servers misconfigured" error in your IP lookup, you can try refreshing your site a few times. If that doesn't work, you can try clearing your cache. Click on "cached" above for more information & browser instructions. Your web host has not set up their name servers to handle web requests for your domain yet. We recommend contacting your web host about the issue. You have ordered a web hosting package for a domain name from us, but did not register the actual domain name. If you ordered Email from us, but didn't register the domain name at any domain registrar, you won't be able to see your website until you register the actual domain name. When you order Email from us, there's a place to enter the domain name the hosting is for. Entering the domain name here doesn't register it for you. You must already own the domain or register it at the same time. You need both the domain name and a web hosting plan to build a website. Basically, a domain name is like a mailing address while a web hosting plan provides the actual land space or "lot" at that address. You need both to get your website online.
- How do I access the IP lookup tool?
To do an IP lookup, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. Your page should look like what is shown below: (click to enlarge) IP Lookup The IP lookup will load in a new browser tab.
- How do I add privacy to domains in bulk?
Want to add domain privacy to your domains in bulk? We have two available privacy options: partial privacy, which hides all of your personal information except your name, and full privacy, which hides all of your personal information including your name. You can easily add privacy to your domains by following these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Click “My Domains”, then “Manage Domains” from the left-side menu bar. Check the boxes next to the domain names to which you wish to add privacy. To select all your domains, check the box at the top of the frame. Choose "Privacy Settings" from the "Bulk Action" list. Select either "Partial" or "Full" privacy from the drop-down menu and click the "Save" button to add privacy to your domains. If you choose to use our domain privacy service, your personal information (email address, mailing address, phone number, etc.) is replaced by our domain privacy service information, and will not be sent to the central registry. This will also happen when we escrow your Whois data to the third party data escrow service as required by ICANN. If one of the domains selected does not allow privacy, or if any domains are expired, this will result in an error message. See a list of domains that do not allow privacy.
- I do not want to lose my domains. What is the best way to keep domains from expiring?
Ensuring you do not lose your domains is important. Here are a couple of suggestions to help you keep your domains from expiring: Keep your email address up to date: This is where we will send those domain expiration notices as well as other important account information. Domain expiration notices are sent out starting 60 days before the expiration date. You can also set a renewal email, so you can receive notices at two emails to make sure you don't miss them! Use our domain auto-renewal service: Once you set up auto-renew for your domain, our system will automatically renew the domain for you 15 days before the expiration date. Just make sure you have an up-to-date payment method selected. Register your domain for up to 10 years: Many of our top-level domains (TLDs) allow you to register your domain name for up to 10 years. You can take advantage of this to ensure that your domain will not expire any time soon. Just remember to renew at the end of 10 years (or well before)! Find out how many years you can register your domain. Domain already expired? Don't worry you may have a renewal grace period that will allow you to keep your domain.
- What is the Insta-Reg tool?
The Insta-Reg tool is the fastest way to register domain names in bulk. To find the Insta-Reg tool, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Insta-Reg" from the “Tools” drop-down menu. To register domain names using this tool, simply enter the names you would like to register into the search box in a comma or whitespace separated list. Make sure you have enough funds in your account to cover the registration costs by prepaying into your account. Clicking "Register Now" will near instantly register all of the domain names as long as they are available. If a domain is not available, you can add it to your watchlist and we will notify you when it becomes available. This tool will register domains in the list until your account balance becomes insufficient. The search tool has limitations that are subject to change at any time. The following TLDs are not supported by this tool at this time: .APP, .AT, .BE, .EU, .LT, .UK, and .PL. Domain registrations using this tool are on a first come first serve basis. Registrations using this tool can only be paid for with account balance to avoid payment processing delays during the bulk registration process. New accounts are unable to use this tool at this time.
