How did you find Dynadot?

Hello,

We are planning a marketing campaign. We were wondering how you, our customer, found out about us? Thank you in advance for your responses.

We do plan to offer PHP and databases with our hosting at some time in the future. But it won't be for a year at least.

We are familiar with Sqlite, and think it is one of the best databases available.

Is it my imagination, or is DynaDot's web hosting server extremely FAST?!?!

I just hope, when DynaDot adds PHP/MySQL in a year or so, that it can be done in such a way as to not "pig" down existing web sites. I don't ask much do I? Not only am I paying $1 per month hosting, but I want to keep it fast. Jeez. <g>

Now I realize the following is comparing apples & oranges, because above I'm discussing hosting, and below regards registrar sites. Too bad, here I go.

PHP "can" be fast though. Go over to Dotster.com and enter a domain lookup for "dkdkdkdkdkdkdkdkkdssss.com" and you see .PHPs in the URL line. They're very fast.

Then mosey on over to DomainSite.com, where you'll see PHPs in their URL line too. It's OK, but not quite as fast.

I've got domains with both of them, because I like to keep an oar in the water with them. As far as speed of maintenance for existing domains; DynaDot stands absolutely alone at the top of the heap, Dotster is 2nd, and DomainSite can get painfully sluggish (not scalable I'm guessing). These things matter when you're looking for a home for multiple domains.

Please do move this to another heading if you want.

Found Dynadot through Namepros and Webhostingtalk. Haven't transferred a domain name here since none are expiring yet, and haven't registered one since I've yet to figure out which one. :)

But since Namepros and some users at WHT gave dynadot a high score, how could I not ignore it?

The hosting should be pretty fast. Glad you like it.

Our servers are hosting at Market Post Tower, one of the most connected buildings on the planet. We buy very high quality bandwidth for our servers. The server hardware is all new too; we just bought the servers this year.

Php can definitely be fast, if you design your system the right way.

Our control panel should be pretty fast, unless you are updating a lot of domains at one time. Also updates to UK domains are a little slow because their protocol is based on email, not sockets. Otherwise domain updates should be pretty fast. The Dynadot code base is a very thin layer between you and the central registries.

I heard about godaddy and the like, so i figured it was time
to get a site going because they are getting cheaper.  I googled and found that dynadot was one of the cheapest yet fastest providers.. ive had 2 domains through you guys and love the speed.  I tried to get my sister in law to use dynadot but she went with lunarpages instead , although a tad more customizable they are eeexxtremely slow.  Anyways ive been using computers since i ran a BBS way back in like 95 in southern california.. so i remember when the internet got big.. i was one of the first to have a cable modem in san diego and i paid close to 100 bucks a month for it.  It's crazy, back then people charged so much for hosting.  HTML and Java has come a long way too so everything is easier.  But yah thats how i found dynadot.  And i like having my sites here.  I started a lingerie website to make money ( i live in Utah, and in a college town)  You can imagine most of the conservative mormons that live here secretly travel to vegas to get sexy clothes but i am providing something easier for them ...  should be a good buisness venture, i feel secure in knowing my site http://www.hazelingerie.com is hosted by dynadot and you can quote me on that.
Cheers,
Jason Beck

I found dynadot through Google when I started registering IDNs. I've since registered all domains/IDNs through you.

Heard about you through Namepros. I used to be an active member there, but I choosed you after I went to all major domain registrars sites and compared them.

When I saw that you accept payment through Moneybookers, I choosed you, since I only had funds there at that time:). And I was satisfied with the interface, so I stayed here, and plan to move some domains here, when they will be close to expire. Want to get the discounted domain prices so...
