How do I manage my marketplace autopay settings for auctions and backorders?
Updated: 2026/10/29Viewed times: 46494
Congratulations on winning your domain! Don't worry about missing the payment deadline. Our Marketplace Autopay will automatically handle the payment for your wins of the order types below.
- Expired domain auctions
- Backorders
- Backorder auctions
- User auctions
- Last chance auctions
- Registry auctions
- Premium domain auctions
All automatic charges are processed 12 hours after the order is created by default. Once selected, the system will charge your default primary payment method first. If no custom primary payment method is set, charges will be deducted from your account balance automatically.
To change your Marketplace Autopay payment method, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Dynadot account.
- From the left side menu bar, select "Payments" and then "Default Marketplace Payment".
- Under Autopay Option, enable autopay as the second-place bidder if desired. If the highest bidder's order is canceled, your order will be automatically charged 12 hours after the cancellation.
- Under Payment method section, set your preferred currency and payment method(s), as well as backup payment method(s).
- If desired, enter an Aftermarket Email Address to receive payment failure notifications for expired auction and backorder orders.
- Click the "Save" button in the top right corner to save your changes.
NOTE:
- The system will attempt to charge your selected primary payment method 12 hours after an auction or backorder order is created. If no custom primary payment method is configured, your account balance will be used automatically.
- If you have multiple auction orders in your account, the system will prioritize the order with the earliest creation date for payment.
- You can set a First Backup and Second Backup payment method in case your default payment method fails due to insufficient funds.
- The same currency and autopay settings apply to both auctions and backorders. You cannot configure separate settings for each.
- The payment settings for auction and backorder auto-pay are separate from those used for domain auto-renewals.
- Failure to pay for won auctions or backorders may result in your account being banned from participating in future auctions and backorders.
