Email hosting - unable to receive email

I recently purchased a domain name and email hosting.
I was able to set up an additional (to admin) account and was able to send email via dynadot site and via email client.
The issues with sending email to this address.
When I send email or reply to the received email  from my gmail account - I'm getting "The response from the remote server was:
550 recipient unrecognized" - is it just because domain registration takes time or something wrong in my settings ?
