Cancelling Domains due to Expire

I would like to cancel a domain that is due for renewal in 15 days. In the site is said that cancellations take 30 days does that mean that if I want to cancel prior to renewal you will still charge me $7.00 for the renewal and then cancel the domain 15 days later?

If you do not wish to renew the domain then you can just let it expire. The only time it would be renewed is if you turned on auto-renew for your domain. If that is the case, you can just turn it off and let the domain expire. The 30 day waiting period is used if, for some reason, you want to delete the domain before it expires.
