When a domain name expires...
9/26/2008 09:57
I am looking for info. on what happens when a domain expires.

How many days after the expiry date does the current registrant have to renew it before it becomes available to anyone?

How many days after the expiry date before it appears in the 'Expired Auction'?

We auction .INFO domains 30 days after they expire.

The auctions last 7 days.  If no one buys the domain, it is then deleted from our system.

The domain will be available to the public about 75 days after the expiration date.

Thanks for the reply.

Does the same apply to .com and .net domains?

Yes, the same process applies.

Yeah, except when dynadot holds onto them for months, not deleting them from the system. I have two that are at 4 months in Pending Renewal or Delete status.

We don't hold onto domain names at all. All domains are either auctioned or deleted, no exceptions.

Please email us your domain names and we can take a look.
