DNS entry for my subdomain
11/18/2008 12:46
Hi,

I have created a subdomain and want this data below to be input in the DNS entries:

e.domain.com IN A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
e.domain.com IN MX example.domain.net.
e.domain.com IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy ~all”

XXX.xxx & yyy.yyy are ip addresses

Can anyone help me how to input this DNS entry on my chosen subdomain?

Thanks in advance

To do this through Dynadot's control panel, you will need to use Advanced Dynadot DNS.

Write down the IP address that your domain is currently using.

In the Advanced Dynadot DNS box, your "Domain Record (required)" will be an A record pointing to the IP address you wrote down above.

You will also need to create a sub-domain "www" that points to the same IP address.

Then you can begin entering the sub-domains and IP addresses above.

Your box should look similar to what is shown here:

Hi,

I followed everything you said but when I try to use the ip of the nameserver Im using in the Doamin record required it give me a white page only with a word like this "leia.privatedns.com" and when I enter the 2nd ip address of my nameserver it gives me "network timeout".

The page Im expecting to come out is not appearing. But when I changed it again to my nameserver before everythings back to normal.

thanks

Your server doesn't appear to accept direct connections to their IP address.

Can you set up sub-domains and edit MX records through your hosting company?
