Unhappy customers

As mentioned on the other "server downtime" thread - the webserver and e-mail are down again, and have been for most of the day, with no explanation from Dynadot and no indication of when they will be up.

This is very bad, and as I mentioned in that other thread if it is a hardware problem, or software issue, with the server then there really is no excuse for this continued downtime - install a stable server OS like Debian, and get new hardware.

Also, where is the back-up server we were promised last time this happened.

All this means several unhappy customers.

As mentioned in our "Server Replacement" email, we will be performing a hardware upgrade today to prevent any unnecessary downtime in the future.  Please check your email.

Your websites should be up at the moment (as of around 9:45am PST), but may be down for several hours later today when we are upgrading our web hosting servers.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by our downtime.  We are working hard to resolve this problem to the best of our ability.

Thank you for the reply - and also for the e-mail notification which it seeemd crossed with my earlier posting.

Such info is much appreciated - the personal approach Dynadot shows sure helps in a situation like this.

One further question - have you recently changed server OS? From Windows to Linux?

The hardware upgrades were succesfully completed. The total downtime was about 30 minutes for the upgrades.

>...have you recently changed server OS?...
There have been no recent OS changes.
