Four New International Domain Extensions Will Soon Be Available to the Public

Jul 15, 2013

Internationalized domain names (IDNs) have opened up the internet to people who don't speak a latin-based language. Now, the world wide web is about to become even more worldly. ICANN has announced that four new international generic top-level domain extensions (gTLDs) will soon be available online:

• International Domain Registry Pty. Ltd.'s شبكة , the Arabic for "Web or Network"
• Core Association's онлайн, Russian for "Online"
• Core Association's сайт, Russian for "Website"
• Spring Fields, LLC 游戏, Chinese for "Game"

These new domain extensions will allow users who speak Arabic, Russian, and Chinese to access websites completely in their own language. As ICANN moves through the process of accepting and denying more domain extensions we are sure to see more exciting news. We're looking forward to seeing what other domains will be approved and how the internet will adjust to the changes. Let us know if you'd be interested in Dynadot offering any or all of these domains to our list in the comment section!
