I noticed Dynadot offers a free one page hosting service with purchase of domain?

If so dynadot will definitely rule domain registration.
Usually I register a domain then it sits...? until developed.

yes it seems so, go to your domain settings page, for the domain in question, click the "Name Server Settings for example.com" sub-link, and the Free Hosting tab.. you can set a title and paste the html for the page
