- How do I set up my domain to work with G Suite using DNS?
To set up Google Apps with your domain, please follow these steps: Log into your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. Under the "Domain Record (required)" field, select "Forward" as the type and enter "http://www.yourdomain.ext" as the "Target Host". In the next line, select "TXT" as the type and enter your Google verification string in the "Target Host" box. We will enter one more "TXT" record. This is called an SPF record and will help protect your emails from being classified as spam. For this one, enter "v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all" in the "Target Host" box. Under the "Subdomain Record (optional)" field, enter "www" as the subdomain and "CNAME" as the type, then enter "ghs.google.com" as the "Target Host". For your second subdomain, enter "calendar" as the subdomain and "CNAME" as the type, then enter "ghs.google.com" as the "Target Host". For the last subdomain, enter "mail" as the subdomain and "CNAME" as the type, then enter "ghs.google.com as the "Target Host". Next, enter the following MX records for email: "aspmx.l.google.com", priority 1, "alt1.aspmx.l.google.com", priority 5, "alt2.aspmx.l.google.com", priority 5, "alt3.aspmx.l.google.com", priority 10, and "alt4.aspmx.l.google.com", priority 10. - I set the name servers for my .NGO domain, so how come my .ONG domain is not working?
If you are using Dynadot's name servers, your .ONG domain will not resolve properly. There are two ways to solve this problem: Use a third party's name servers Set your own custom name servers (also known as glue records) If you want to forward your .NGO and .ONG domains to another domain, such as your .ORG, you can do this by using third party name servers. We recommend CloudFlare, as they offer a free plan that will help you accomplish this.
- How do I register my own name servers (glue records)?
Glue records associate a hostname with an IP address. They are needed when you want to set your domain's name servers to a hostname that is a subdomain of your domain. To create your own name servers for a domain registered at Dynadot, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Name Servers" in the drop-down. Click on the "Register Name Server" button in the top right corner of the page. Enter the host name (ns1.mydomain.com, for example) in the text box labeled "Host Name". Enter the IP address for the name server in the text box labeled "IP Address". Press the "Register Name Server" button to save your changes. You can submit either an IPv4 or IPv6 IP address (except .WS domains, which do not support IPv6 addresses). You can also set multiple IP addresses. Please remember to configure your name servers with the corresponding A records. This would be done in your hosting control panel rather than your Dynadot account. Your settings should look similar to what is shown below: (click to enlarge) Register Name Servers Example NOTE: Custom domain name servers (glue records) can only be registered at Dynadot if the domain is registered here. If you are trying to register a name server for ns1.mydomain.com, for example, and mydomain.com is registered with a third party, you would not be able to create glue records with Dynadot.
- How do I forward to an IDN or URL with non-Latin characters?
If you want to forward or stealth forward your domain to an Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) or a URL with non-Latin characters (beyond the domain name), the set up is slightly different. International Domains & Extensions If you want to forward your domain to a IDN or a domain name registered on an international domain extension, you need to use punycode to specify the link. Punycode is the ASCII representation of an international domain name or domain extension. The punycode of your domain is listed underneath the domain name when you sign in to your Dynadot account under "Manage" in the "Domains" drop-down. For example, if your domain is www.SanJosé.com, you would need to enter the following in our "Webpage to Forward to" section: http://www.xn--sanjos-gva.com. International Characters in URL If you want to forward to a domain name that uses ASCII characters, but the full link you want to forward to has non-ASCII characters in it, you do not need to use punycode. Instead, you will need to set your browser to the correct character encoding* and then copy the link directly from your browser. You can use any character encoding you want, including Chinese Big-5, Japanese Shift-Jis, or Russian. When entering your URL, make sure your browser is displaying the page in the encoding you want to use otherwise the web browser will send us your URL in the wrong format. For example, if you want to forward your domain to http://www.mydomain.com/?keyword=José, you would need to set your browser encoding to ISO Latin 1 and then copy the full link into the "Webpage to Forward to" section. *To set your browser's character encoding for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, go to "View" in the browser's menu bar at the top. Then click on "Encoding" for Chrome or "Text Encoding" for Firefox and Safari. You will see a list of different character encoding options to choose from. IDN + International URL Characters If you're looking at a combo domain where the domain name and/or extension is non-ASCII and there are non-ASCII characters after the domain name, you will need to use a combination of the instructions above. Basically, you will need to enter the domain name using punycode. Then, you will need to copy the rest of the link from your browser with it set to the correct character encoding. For example, if your domain is www.SanJosé.com/?keyword=José, then you would need to enter http://www.xn--sanjos-gva.com/?keyword=José into the "Webpage to Forward to" section having copied the "/?keyword=José" part of the link from your browser with its encoding set to ISO Latin 1.

- Can I set up email forwarding if I am using stealth forwarding?
Yes! Stealth forwarding is completely separate from our email forwarding; the two do not have any effect on each other. For this reason, setting up your 10 free email aliases is no different whether you're using our name servers, forwarding your domain, or stealth forwarding your domain. Our email forwarding allows you to set up to 10 email addresses on your domain name, for example, [email protected] You can then have any email sent to your domain email addresses forwarded to an existing email address such as your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or other email. Since the email is being forwarded, you cannot respond using your domain email. Unfortunately, it's not quite as "stealth" as your website using stealth forwarding.
