  • Why am I getting this Account Info Whois Verification email and what is it?

The Account Info Whois Verification email, along with the similar Contact Record Whois Verification email, are part of a new ICANN (the Internet Corporation of Names and Numbers) requirement. The requirement came into effect when we signed the ICANN 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). Basically, if you have one or more generic top-level domains (gTLDs) such as .COM registered in your Dynadot account, you are required to verify your account information.* You will receive this Account Info Whois Verification email when you: register a gTLD for the first time edit your account info and you have gTLDs registered in your account If you need to verify your account information, you will receive a notification in your account in addition to the Account Info Whois Verification email. When you go to the notifications area in your account, you will see that you need to verify your account information (if you have recently updated or added any Whois contact records attached to any gTLDs, you will also see them listed here as needing verification as you can see in the first row of this example): gTLD Whois Verification in Dynadot Account Notifications NOTE: The Account Info Whois Verification email may take some time to send out. • What is the "Domain Lock" feature?

The "Domain Lock" feature is similar to our "Account Lock" feature, but it applies a lock to each individual domain, as opposed to your entire account. Having each individual domain locked as well as your account locked, helps insure that your account stays secure and no domains are hijacked. Before you unlock your domain or domains, you will need to unlock your account. We recommend setting up 2 step verification with your account to add an additional layer of security. Having your domain locked is the default setting. Find out how to know if your domain is locked.

  • Why am I not receiving email from Dynadot?

There are a few potential reasons why you could not be receiving email from us. Since we send you emails about renewing your domains, we recommend making sure you use an accessible email address as your account email. We also do not recommend using one attached to a domain within your account because you won't be able to access that email if your domain expires. First, you should check your Dynadot account email to make sure it is spelled correctly and is the email address you want to use. If your email address was not correct, you can contact our support team at [email protected] to have your missing emails resent. If your email was correct, you should check your spam filter. Our emails often end up in the spam folder for Yahoo and Hotmail, and sometimes for Gmail as well. You may need to scroll down in your spam folder as spammers often set a date in the future, so their emails appear at the top. Please be aware that Hotmail sometimes loses emails or delivers them several days late. If our emails were in your spam folder, you should mark them as not spam and add our email to your contact list. If you aren't receiving email because your account email is from a domain that has expired in your account, we recommend renewing your domain and changing your email to something else. The reason for this is, if your domain is expired and you forget your password, it will be more difficult for you to regain access to your account. Please note that you can also contact our support team via private message from within your Dynadot account. You will need to enter our forum name, dynadot_staff, in the "To" section.
