To find the Pending Delete Domain Evaluations in your Dynadot account, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "IPS Reports” from the “Tools” drop-down menu. A domain should be renewed before its expiration date. If the domain expires, you can still renew it after the expiration date for a certain grace period (typically 40 days). These renewals are at the regular renewal price until the last 10 days of the renewal grace period during which we charge a $10 late renewal fee. PLEASE NOTE: As of September 18th 2023, the $10 late fee for renewals will be deprecated. If you do not renew the domain within the grace period, then the domain is deleted. Dynadot would no longer control the domain name and it can no longer be renewed. After a certain redemption period (typically 30 days), the domain is released back to the public and anyone can register it. If you decide you still want the domain within the redemption period, you need to restore it. This is a time-consuming process that is not automated. We actually have to submit paperwork to complete the restore. Most of the price you pay goes to the central registry, not us. All restores include a 1-year renewal. A domain restore should not be confused with a backordering service. A domain restore is for domains that have been registered by Dynadot, but were deleted after the renewal grace period since the owner did not renew the domain. This is only for our customers who wish to restore a domain they had registered with us, but forgot to renew the domain after it expired. See our TLD List to find out the renewal grace period of each domain extension. Learn more about the domain lifecycle
If you don't want to keep your domain name, you can mark it for deletion. This is different from a grace period deletion and you will not receive any account credit if you choose to delete your domain this way. To mark your domain for deletion before the expiration date, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. In the "Domain Name" column, click on your domain name (which should be a link). Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the "Delete" section. Press the "Delete" button to delete your domain (a pop-up will appear for confirmation). If the "Delete" button is not present, you may need to unlock your domain first. If your domain is set to auto-renew, please disable those settings. Our system will automatically process your deletion 7 days after the request is made. If you change your mind about deleting your domain, you will need to cancel your deletion request before then. If your domain is close to expiration, you can also choose to set your domain to "do not renew" and let it naturally expire. NOTE: .EU, .BE, .UK, .CA, and .AT domains cannot be marked for deletion. For .AT domains, only a signed document from the .AT registrant can cancel the registration.
With most domain extensions, we can grace delete the domain and issue you an account credit within 5 days of registration. Please submit a grace period deletion request in your account as soon as you realize the mistake. NOTE: Some domains have a grace deletion fee. Not all domains can be deleted for credit. Check out our grace deletion chart to see which of our domain extensions can be grace deleted. Any that cannot be grace deleted are listed as "none" under the grace period column.
If you have marked your domain for deletion, you have 7 days to cancel your request before the domain is deleted. To cancel your domain deletion request, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. In the "Domain Name" column, click on your domain name (which should be a link). Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the "Delete" section. Press the "Cancel Deletion" button to cancel your deletion request. NOTE: This help article does NOT refer to a Grace Period Deletion request. If you need to cancel a grace period deletion request, you will need to contact us at [email protected].

Yes, we are an official reseller of Alpha SSL certificates and offer both regular and wildcard SSL to help secure your website. You can find out more and order your SSL certification on our SSL page. Here are some benefits of Alpha SSL: Compatible with 99% of web browsers. Recognized by all popular mobile devices. Uses chained root certificates, which are more secure than single root certificates. Meets National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) recommendation to use 2048 bit keys. Second oldest Certificate Authority in existence. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. An SSL certificate helps keep your website secure by encrypting communication between your server and your customer's browser. This is especially important for e-commerce websites. The easiest way to tell if a website uses SSL is if it has "https" instead of just "http" in its link (you'll notice Dynadot has https).

To register a domain name, please follow these steps: Go to our Domain Name Search page. Enter the domain name you wish to register in the search bar. You can choose to enter your domain name with or without a domain extension. Once you've found the one, select the domain name(s) you want to register by clicking the check box next to it. Click on the "Add" button to add the domain(s). The item(s) should briefly appear at the top right-hand corner of the page as they're added to your shopping cart. This will be indicated underneath the domain(s) with "Domain Privacy" (or "Privacy Not Allowed" for those that don't allow). Our system will take you through the checkout process to submit your order. You will receive an "Order Finished" email from us when your order has completed processing and your domain is registered! We also have a few additional searches that can help make it easier to find your dream domain. These include: Advanced Search: allows you to select multiple domain extensions you want to search. Bulk Search: allows you to search for multiple domain names at once. IDN Search: allows you to target your search for Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). (You can search for IDNs in any of our searches and our system will automatically take you to this page for the results.) Bulk IDN Search: allows you to search for multiple IDNs at once.
No, we do not charge a ICANN fee on top of our domain registration fee. All fees are included in our domain prices; you won't see any additional fees added at checkout. We believe in transparent domain pricing. Check out our domain price list.
Yes, there is a drawback when you use stealth forwarding. With stealth forwarding, visitors to your website will not be able to see your site's sub-directory structure. They will also not be able to bookmark specific pages on your website when you use stealth forwarding. This is because stealth forwarding uses frames and only serves to forward a visitor to the web page you have specified in the stealth forwarding option. Once your visitor has reached your website, the URL in the address bar will not change no matter which page he/she navigates to until he/she reaches a web page which breaks out of the frames. Once a visitor breaks out of the frames, the website's real URL address will be visible in the web browser's URL bar. For example, say you have a page http://name.somedomain.com/folder/somepage.html and when you use stealth forwarding, you want http://www.myexample.org/folder/somepage.html to show up instead of http://name.somedomain.com/folder/somepage.html. This will not work with stealth forwarding since your domain name can only hide the URL of your website and will always show up as http://www.myexample.org/. If you want to be able to see your sub-directory structure, then you must create a website on myexample.org. You can do this through Dynadot's free website builder or with a web hosting plan, so your files are all hosted on myexample.org instead of at name.somedomain.com. You can also choose to use our regular domain forwarding. Find out how to set up stealth forwarding. Find out how to set up domain forwarding.
