technophobe needs help

not a total technophobe but need a little help, I've just purchased a domain and also a hosting package and now i need to know how to go about transferring my blog from blogger, on the publish via ftp page on blogger it goes on about needing an FTP path but to be honest I haven't the slightest clue as to what one is! LOL

Yes I have read the instructions but really need someone to take me through the process lightly, can any of you marvels help, I would really really appreciate it.

I have never used Blogger, so I don't know exactly what to do.

Is there a way to download your blog to your desktop using ftp? Then you can use ftp to upload your blog to the webhosting.
