Last Week's Answers

Easy: What is a backorder auction?
Reward: 50% Off Domain Renewal (.COM, .NET, .ORG, or .XYZ)

Answer: A backorder auction is when a domain in our backorders receives more than one request and is sent to an auction. Currently, only customers who have placed a backorder can participate in the auction.

Medium: How do you retrieve your authorization codes in bulk?
Reward: 1 Free Domain Renewal (up to $10)

Answer: First, you must send an email to info@dynadot.com and request us to enable the "CSV Transfer Codes" in your account. This email must come from the address on file for the account. To download your bulk authorization codes, please follow these steps. 1) Sign in to your Dynadot account. 2) Click on the "Domains" tab in the main menu. 3) Unlock your domain(s). 4) Select "Folder Downloads" from the "Domains" drop-down menu. 5) Check the box next to "Transfer Codes" and then click on the "Download" button. Hard: What happens if your Website Builder plan expires?
Reward: 1 Free Domain Registration (.COM, .NET, .ORG, or .XYZ)

Answer: If you have either the pro or business plan with our Website Builder and you let it expire, it will revert back to the free version. Renewing your Website Builder will ensure you can continue to access the premium features and tools available on these plans. If your Website Builder plan expires and you had more than five pages on your website (which is what the free version allows), our system will only show the first five pages on your website. The additional pages will not be deleted, but you will not be able to show them on your website without upgrading your plan. Any search bars you've added to your website will still show, but they will not return any results. Any additional code you've added to your website will be removed and your footer and favicon will be replaced. For business plans that expire, you will no longer be able to access your email. Any emails sent to your email address will be stored for one month after your plan's expiration. More here

VPS OS Firewall is set on by default. This will block services other than ssh by default. Type the following commands to turn off the iptables firewall or change the iptables firewall to other status. However, it is best to keep the firewall on but add specific rules to allow specific service. To turn off iptables firewall: service iptables stop To turn on iptables firewall: service iptables start To turn off iptables firewall on boot: chkconfig iptables off To turn on iptables firewall on boot: chkconfig iptables on Information source: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/vps-firewall
