Do You Know Your IM Acronyms?

We all know what LOL stands for (and no it's not lots of love), but what about the many other acronyms that people use over instant messaging, or IM, services? Here is a list of some IM acronyms you should know.

Let's start with the basics:

LOL = laughing out loud
BRB = be right back
BBL = be back later
IDK = I don't know
IMO = in my opinion
BTW = by the way
FYI = for your information
TTYL = talk to you later
FTW = for the win
NM = nothing much
TMI = too much info
NP = no problem
411 = information

Now here are a few you may not know, but would make a fun addition to your IM vocabulary (or your .IM domain portfolio):

AAF = as a matter of fact - and as a matter of fact, is available
IOW = in other words - in other words is also available
UKW = you know who - yes, you know who ( is available
IRL = in real life - you really can buy in real life
BME = based on my experience - based on my experience is available
GFN = gone for now - no, it's not, is here & available
OTP = on the phone - multitask & get, available now
SIS = snickering in silence - no one will snicker at this available domain:
VBS = very big smile - you'll certainly have one after you register this available domain:
UFN = until further notice - don't wait until further notice, register while it's still available

And last, but definitely not least is my favorite IM acronym AFZ, which stands for acronym free zone. Is it just me or is that kind of ironic? Anyway, is also available to register if you're interested. As you can see, there are a lot of great options still available with the .IM domain, including short domain name options. This makes .IM a great option for your custom (& IM acronym inspired) short link. See our earlier post on the benefits of a custom short link and how to get started with one yourself.

Then choose .IM! .IM domains are on sale now for just $8.99! That's right all of the domains mentioned above are only $8.99! Our sale ends 6/30/13 23:59 GMT, so don't delay. Need more IM acronym inspiration? Check out this much more comprehensive list of IM acronyms.
