.TV - Tuvalu's Gift to the World

Every four years I look forward to watching the Olympics. It's funny because I don't watch any other sports normally, but for some reason I can't get enough of the Olympics – it doesn't matter if it's Summer or Winter Games or even obscure sports such as Dressage or Curling. One of my favorite parts of the Olympics is the opening ceremony. It's always fun to see the show that the host country puts on, but what I really enjoy is watching the athletes from all over the world enter the arena representing their countries.

If you watched this year's opening ceremony, you may or may not have noticed the entrance of the tiny Oceanic island nation of Tuvalu, who sent three athletes to what was only their second trip to the Olympic games. I tell you all of this because if you were watching NBC's coverage in the US (unfortunately NBC is the only option here, so I'm not sure about the commentary of others) you probably heard them say that Tuvalu is known for its domain, .TV, which has become popular around the world.

Tuvalu has given the world a great gift by opening up their .TV domain for anyone to register. For obvious reasons, it has become the home of online video. If you're a business looking to engage your customers, video is a great medium to do so – it puts a human face to your company. But if those great videos you worked so hard on are buried away somewhere in your website, then you aren't getting your moneys worth. Registering a .TV domain not only further protects your brand (trust us it's a long process to get a domain someone else has registered in your company name); it also gives you the perfect place to host all your video content.

.TV can also be great for personal sites. If you are planning on mainly hosting video, the .TV domain was made for you! If you've already got a successful site on another TLD, .TV is the perfect compliment to host your video content. With .TV people will know you've got video content on your site right from the URL.

So what are you waiting for? Get your .TV domain today for our sale price of $12.99 for 1 year registrations. This sale price is only available until 9/30/12 23:59 PDT.
