Dynadot 2024 Updates - Quarter 4 Roundup
As we end of 2024, looking forward to 2025 we’ve made massive changes to pages on the website, introduced new tools/features, user quality of life adjustments, updates to our products and many more! Carrying on from our Q3 updates, we’ve compiled more changes that have recently been implemented in Q4 below. As always, if you have any feedback or more suggestions, we encourage you to share them through our feature request page, which can be found under ‘Support’ on our platform.
Launched New TLD Price Page
We have updated the design and layout of the TLD price page to create a cleaner and more user-friendly experience. The content has been improved to ensure that the benefits are easy to read and understand for all users. Additionally, we have updated the page URL to improve accessibility and navigation.
Launched AbuseShield Tool
NameBlock is proud to introduce a new tool called AbuseShield, which adds phishing and impersonation protection for registered domain names. This tool works by identifying and blocking abusive variants of domain names while leaving the registered domain name unaffected. If a potentially harmful variant is already registered or blocked by another party, AbuseShield will still detect it and track its status. Should the variant become available, NameBlock will automatically secure it and add it to an existing order at no extra cost.
Back-end Account Domain Setting Changes
Launched Domain Parkbot Automatic Parking
We launched a new DNS setting with Parkbot that allows automatic parking for selected domains. This feature is designed to help users earn passive income by generating ad revenue from unused domain names. By parking domains directly on their platform, users can optimize the value of their assets effortlessly.
Unlock Domain Settings
We made updates to the bulk unlock domain settings to unlock multiple domains at the same time. This adds more bulk options and helps you manage your domains more easily.
Show More Recent Login IPs
Added a ‘Load more’ button to show more recent login IPs on the overlay. This improvement provides users with greater visibility into their account activity. By allowing access to more login history, users can better monitor and secure their accounts.
New Watchlist Columns
We’ve added two new columns to the Watchlist feature - the first column displays the total number of TLDs registered with Dynadot, while the second highlights how many of those TLDs are currently active on a website. These additions offer valuable data to help users track their domain investments effectively.
Editing Sell Domain Basic Information Without Unlocking Account
We’ve made updates to the domain sales process by unlocking basic information editing without requiring account unlocking. This means you can now make quick edits to your domain listing details. However, setting a price for your domain will still require account unlocking for added security.
Updated Auction Bid Notifications
We’ve launched new notification customization options for auction participants. Users can now toggle the “Auction ending soon notification” on or off based on their preferences. Similarly, the “Outbid notification” can also be enabled or disabled, giving you greater control over how you receive updates during active auctions.
Domain Setting Tracker Updates
We’ve made several updates to the domain setting tracker to improve usability and functionality, such as:
- Added ‘Number of tracker domain displayed per page’ setting
- Added ‘Quality’ filter
- Added ‘End’ tag
- Removed ‘Phone Number’ setting.
Whois Privacy Consent Domain Settings
We’ve added the ability to toggle on/off with advanced settings on Whois Privacy for a user’s domains. This feature gives users greater control over their privacy settings. Additionally, a new column for “Whois Privacy” has been added to filter and manage domains with these specific privacy configurations.
Manage Domains Filter
Managing multiple TLDs is now more efficient with the ability to select multiple TLDs at the same time through the manage domains filter. This option saves time for users managing large portfolios.
Sitebuilder Changes
Sitebuilder Page 'Digital Goods' Button
We’ve introduced a new “Digital Goods” option to the Sitebuilder store, allowing sellers to offer a “download items” option. Buyers can now instantly download their purchased items once the payment has been processed.
New AI-Generated Sitebuilder
A new AI-Generated template feature has been added to the Sitebuilder. This allows users to quickly create customized websites with minimal effort.
New Ask AI Text Editor Tool
An AI assistant is added to the rich text editor to facilitate users in editing the text better and improving their content.
Account Changes
Account 2FA Sign In Duration
We’ve added 3-days as an option for an account that has 2FA to sign in. This gives users more flexibility in managing their accounts securely.
Account Lock Settings Update
Our current account unlocking log only records successful unlocking and not failures. We added unlock failure logs to help users locate the failure when it occurs. It also strengthens security by offering better visibility into account activities.
