Losing access to your phone or security key can be stressful. Luckily, backup codes provide a reliable alternative two-step verification method. Here's how to activate them:

1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
2. Select "My Info" from the left-side menu bar and click "Security" in the drop-down.
3. Click "Manage Two-Factor Authenticator".
4. Unlock your account by entering your Security PIN. (Submit a forget Security PIN request if you lose it)
5. Click on the plus icon next to "Backup Codes".
6. A new popup page will open with a list of your backup codes.
7. Click "Confirm" button to save your changes.

Your backup codes are now active. Please store them securely. You can regenerate a new set if you lose your current ones.

Note:

• Backup codes are an alternate method of 2 step verification if you lose access to your phone or security key. You must enable a primary 2-step verification method first, before activating backup codes.
• For accounts created after August 18, 2026, backup codes are enabled automatically and sent to you via email once your email address is verified during account creation. If you disable them manually, reenabling later will require a primary two step verification method to be set up first.
