How do you build a wordpress website with dynadot hosting?
11/1/2013 07:58
Hi I have hosting with dynadot but I want to create a website using WordPress. Can someone tell me how this can be done as this hosting doesn't have a regular Cpanel like I'm use to.

Also How do I access the FTP in dynadot?

Our Advanced Hosting package does support WordPress and includes a cPanel account.  I checked your account and you do not seem to have purchased a hosting package with us yet.  I do see that one of your domains is using our 'Basic Hosting' setting, but that will only work if you purchase the package.

Okay, thank you.

if I can get shared hosting somewhere else how would I forward the dns of my domain to it? I might be using servage.net and also would I need to set up my email address with @houseofbluebell.com again if I moved to second party hosting?

If you use a third party hosting provider, you would ask them which name servers to use so you can point your domain to their servers.  You can then set that up in your account.

How do I set my name servers for my domain?

To set your name servers, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
  2. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down.
  3. Check the box next to your domain name(s) and click on the "Action" button.
  4. Choose "DNS Settings" from the "Action" list.
  5. On the DNS page, select the "Name Servers" setting from the top drop-down menu.
  6. There are two ways to set name servers:
    - If you are adding new name servers, select "Enter new or existing Name Servers" from your list of choices and enter your new name servers in the provided fields.
    - If you are using existing name servers, move down to the "Select from your Name Servers" option and choose the name servers from your existing list.
  7. Press the "Save Name Server" button to save your changes.

Please be aware that it might take some time for your name server changes to propagate.

Alternatively, you can also set your Name Servers when transferring your domain. To do so, while your item is in the cart, please click on the hardware icon. It will prompt you through a short two step wizard and guide you through the set up process.

Thank you but I have decided to stay with dynadot hosting and just upgrade to advanced hosting.

Please can you tell me where the Wordpress install and cpanel options are now that I have upgraded?

Thanks

Do you have the order ID number for the Advanced Hosting package?  We checked your account and didn't see any active hosting plans.

Perfect!  You can find the cPanel login link when you click on the "Hosting" tab in your account.

When you log into cPanel, you can install WordPress.

Our Basic Hosting option does not support WordPress sites. You may need to have the package deleted and refunded.
