About .BZH

After receiving ICANN approval in 2014, .BZH became France’s first regional TLD. Managed by a non-profit organization, .BZH focuses on providing Brittany with a digital space where its language and culture can be shared. Applicants are required to prove the existence of a geographical or cultural link with Brittany to register their .BZH domain.

.BZH Eligibility: Who can register a .bzh domain?

To register and renew a .BZH domain name, you must either:

• Have a postal address in Brittany (Côtes d'Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Finistère, Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique),

OR

• Have a website with a significant and original section dedicated to Brittany or Breton culture,

OR

• Have a website written in a significant and original section in Breton or Gallo.

A company or association with a postal address in one of the five departments of historical Brittany (Finistère, Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique, Côtes d'Armor, and Ille-et-Vilaine) can therefore automatically register a .BZH domain. An individual, an association, etc., not residing in Brittany but wishing to express their connection to Brittany, its culture, or its languages ​​remotely, can also register a .BZH domain.

Lovers of Brittany, wherever they are in the world, whatever their nationality, are free to create a .BZH website to showcase Breton heritage, landscapes, language, and more. This connection can be demonstrated through a physical address (postal address in Brittany) or an intangible reference (a mention of Brittany on a website).
