Dynadot Launches Two-Factor Authorization at Login

Dynadot Launches Two-Factor Authorization at Login

Dynadot is excited to announce another layer of account security starting today! We have already been offering both Google Authenticator and SMS Authentication for several years, but they were only required to unlock your account. Now, they will be required at login for everyone who has at least one or both of these additional security measures set up in their Dynadot account.

How to Use

If you have Google Authenticator set up, you will need to enter your token code after you enter your username and password at login. You will also be asked to enter your token code again along with your birth date to unlock your account.

If you have SMS Authentication set up, you will need to enter your SMS code after you enter your username and password at login. You will also be asked enter your SMS code again along with your birth date to unlock your account.

If you have both Google Authenticator and SMS Authentication set up, you will need to enter your token code from Google Authenticator after you enter your username and password at login. Then, you will need to enter both your token code and SMS code along with your birth date to unlock your account.

If you are unable to access your Google Authenticator token code or SMS code or have misplaced your cellphone, you can submit a lost cellphone request and our customer service team will be happy to help you.

Don't Have Two-Factor Authentication Yet?

Adding one or both of them is easy and recommended! Simply follow these instructions courtesy of our awesome help files:

Learn how to add Google Authenticator to your Dynadot account
Learn how to active your SMS authentication settings in your Dynadot account

Alternatively, you can choose to remove one or both of these additional security features from your account (though we don't recommend it!):

Learn how to turn off Google Authenticator
Learn how to turn off SMS Authentication

Want more information about Dynadot account security? Visit our Domain Security page or check out the Account & Domain Security section of our help files.

Please note that as of 2/10/16 17:00 PST, we will be discontinuing support for the Dynadot token. If you still use the Dynadot token with your account, it will no longer be required to unlock your account. Instead, we recommend using Google Authenticator as it is very similar and is the replacement for the Dynadot token.
