Dynadot Adds Drop Catch Support for .TV & .CC!

Back in July, we welcomed .ORG into our drop catch family. Now, just six months later, we're excited to have just recently added .TV and .CC into the family as well! Our domain backorder system, also know as our drop catcher, allows you to place a request for a domain that is about to be re-released after deletion. Our drop catching system then tries to grab the domain for you as it's released.

With most domains, you're given a 30 day grace renewal period after it expires. If you don't renew during this period, the domain can be placed in our expired auctions. If it's not picked up here either, it is then deleted. During this time, you can still restore the domain for another 40 days, bringing the total number of days since expiration to 70. Then, 5 days later the domain is re-released from its central registry. It is at this time that we try and grab the domain that you backordered with us.

After adding more registry connections last year, we've been seeing some great success with our backorders, especially with .ORG! We hope to see similar success with our new additions of .TV and .CC. You can check out our backorders for yourself and you can even filter them by TLD including .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .TV, and .CC. Please note that to place a backorder request, you must have made at least one successful payment of $2 or more in the last 365 days. If this is not the case - don't worry - you can simply add some account credit that can be used towards future orders by making a prepay of $2 or more to your account.

If (and when) we do catch the domain you've requested, our system will automatically create an order for you. If you are not the only request, then we will host a 3-day private auction for the domain. Although we make every effort to catch the domains that are requested through our drop catch system, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that we will get it. Luckily, we won't charge you unless we successfully catch the domain!
