    • How do I set my .CN domain settings?

Although .CN no longer has any restrictions with registration, if you want to use your .CN domain (aka set name servers), you will need to set your .CN domain settings. To do so, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "TLD Settings" from the "Domains" drop-down menu. Click on the "CN Domain Settings" link on the right-hand side of the page. Enter your information in the provided form. Click on the "Submit" button to save your changes. NOTE: The .CN central registry requires additional information and documentation to set the name servers for .CN domains. You will also be asked to submit photo copies of your ID or Business License, which should match your default registrant information entered under the .CN domain settings.

    • How do I unlock my domain?

To unlock your domain, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. Check the box next to the domain name(s) you want to unlock. Select "Unlock Domains" from the "Bulk Action" drop-down menu. If your account is locked, you will be prompted to unlock your account before proceeding. Unlocking your account will require you to enter your "Birthday" as well as a Token Code if you have set up Google Authenticator and/or an SMS Code if you have SMS set up (you will need to click on "Send Sms Token"). Press the "Unlock Account" button. This will take you back to the "Manage Domains" page where you can make your selection again. Press the "Unlock Domains" button to unlock your domain(s). Please submit a "Forgot Birthday" request if you do not remember your "Birthday." Please submit a "Lost Cellphone" request if you have lost your cellphone or cannot access it for Google Authenticator and/or SMS.

    • How do I register my own name servers (glue records)?

To create your own name servers for a domain registered at Dynadot, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Name Servers" in the drop-down. Click on the "Register Name Server" button on the top-right of the page. Enter the host name (ns1.mydomain.com, for example) in the text box labeled "Host Name". Enter the IP address for the name server in the text box labeled "IP Address". Press the "Register Name Server" button to save your changes. You can submit either an IPv4 or IPv6 IP address (except .WS domains do not support IPv6 addresses). You can also set multiple IP addresses. Also, please remember to configure your name servers with the corresponding A records. This would be done in your hosting control panel rather than your Dynadot account. Glue records associate a hostname with an IP address. They are needed when you want to set your domain's name servers to a hostname that is a subdomain of your domain. NOTE: Custom domain name servers (glue records) can only be registered at Dynadot if the domain is registered here. If you are trying to register a name server for ns1.mydomain.com, for example, and mydomain.com is registered with a third party, you would not be able to create glue records with Dynadot.

    • What additional information is required to register .CN domains?

CNNIC, the central registry for .CN, no longer requires documentation to register a .CN domain. However, if you want to set name servers for your .CN domain, CNNIC requires that you specify your registrant type as either an Individual or Enterprise. If you choose Individual, you will need to provide a photo ID for the .CN registry's audit process. The name on the ID must match exactly the name of your default contact record. And please notice that the registry accepts passport only for the audit if you are not a Chinese citizen. If you choose Enterprise, you will need to provide a copy of your Business License for the .CN registry's audit process. They also require that you specify an Industry and Manager's name. Again, this is only required if you want your .CN domain to resolve. How do I set my .CN domain settings?

    • How do I add my Membership ID to my .XXX domain?

You can still register .XXX domains without a member ID, but you will not be able to create a website on it. Press the "Submit" button to save your changes.

    • Where can I find the auth code for my domain?

The authorization code, or EPP code, of your domain is needed in order to transfer the domain to another registrar. To find the auth code for your domain, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. Click on the domain name you want to transfer (it should be a link). Scroll down to the "Authorization Code" section. If your domain is transfer locked, you will need to unlock it by first unlocking your account using the links provided (unless your account is already unlocked, in which case the links will not appear). Once your account is unlocked, press the "Unlock" button to unlock your domain. NOTE: Your domain needs to remain unlocked during the transfer process; however, we recommend locking your account to ensure its security. Our system will automatically re-lock it within 1 hour for you, but it's always a good idea to re-lock it as soon as you don't need it to be unlocked.
