- Can I transfer my domain from Dynadot to a different domain registrar?
Yes, you can transfer your domain(s) to another domain registrar. There is no fee or penalty to do this; however, there are some restrictions: Domains that have expired cannot be transferred. You must renew them through us first. Domains less than 60 days old cannot be transferred. This is a rule enforced by the central registries. Domains recently transferred to Dynadot cannot be transferred out for 60 days. Domains in "Buy Lock" or "Auction Lock" status cannot be transferred. Find out how to transfer your domains away from Dynadot.
- Do you charge an ICANN fee on top of your domain registration fee?
No, we do not charge a ICANN fee on top of our domain registration fee. All fees are included in our domain prices; you won't see any additional fees added at checkout. We believe in transparent domain pricing. Check out our domain price list.
- How do I add privacy to domains in bulk?
To add privacy to domains in bulk, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Click “My Domains”, then “Manage Domains” from the left-side menu bar. Check the boxes next to the domain names to which you wish to add privacy. To select all your domains, check the box at the top of the frame. Select "Bulk Actions", then "Add Privacy". The items will be added to your shopping cart at the top of the page unless the domain does not allow privacy, or if any domains are expired, which will result in an error message. See a list of domains that do not allow privacy. Follow the "Checkout" buttons to complete your order. If you choose to use our domain privacy service, your personal information (email address, mailing address, phone number, etc.) is replaced by our domain privacy service information, and will not be sent to the central registry. This will also happen when we escrow your Whois data to the third party data escrow service as required by ICANN. You can see an example of this on our privacy page. We also offer customers the option to show their name, but still replace all other info with Dynadot's info. This is called partial privacy. Please refer to our help file on changing domain privacy in bulk to find out how to switch from full to partial privacy or vice versa.
- If I register a domain name through your company, who is the owner? Is it me or Dynadot?
You are the owner of all domain names that you register through us. As long as you continue to renew your domain, you are the owner. If you do not renew, then the domain is deleted and someone else can become the owner. Dynadot is an ICANN-accredited domain registrar, not a reseller. This means that we have a direct connection with the central registries of the domains we sell. See our blog post on the "3 R's of the Domain Industry: Registry, Registrar, & Reseller" for more information. If you aren't sure if you're considered the owner of your domain, do a Whois lookup to see if your information is listed (keep in mind your information may not be listed if you are using a privacy service).
