Webserver downtime

Hi,

I've noticed a few times recently that webhosting has been down for a while. This also affects login to site to update.

I assume you're aware of the problem. Any explanations?

Also, this didn't seem to happen when I first signed up - and we did get an e-mail if ever the server was down, and an apology, which was good. Now - no email; not even a "Service Status" link on the homepage where we can check what's going on.

I think it would be a great idea if on dynadot website if there was a " service status " it would let people know what's going on ... I am really happy with the service I get but my site is down at the moment .... I am sure all will be well soon .... but service status would be nice .

The webhosting server is now up. We're still looking into why it went down. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

We will definately consider adding a "service status" field on our main site for the hosting servers.

Sorry about that. There was a minor website initialization problem. We checked you site and it's working now.

It is Sunday, 8 October 2006 - 9:25 PM EDT.

I'm new at Dynadot. Is this a continuing problem? I use a back page on my site as my Home Page so it is a real inconvenience with my browsers.

Hoping things 'turn on' soon as this is probably pretty unpleasant from your end, too.

Thanks, I was able to access last night, but tonight am having difficulty again. Of course, this means the email is down too.

ellay, stick around, it's usually pretty good and you aren't going to find any webserver that doesn't have some issue at some point.

Thanks, k_c_chilliwack. My main web site is with another hosting company. I'm in my seventh year with them and really do appreciate the ups and downs of the web hosting business. Sure wouldn't be a business for me ... way too stressful. I do appreciate the trails and tribs. of a web hosting company ... and I probably have only seen a small part from the user end.

However, I was hoping to use my email account as my main account. Now, I'm not so sure. Guess I'll wait and see.

An email or posting on this site would be a consolation, though.

I have noticed that it has been up and down lately too. I wouldn't mind so much but it is day here in Australia and peak time. it still appears to be down. is there any idea as to why this has been happening recently? upgrades or something?
