How long does it take for an expired domain to get on the Drop List?
1/14/2016 22:41
One of my 10-year owned domains inadvertently went past the 45 days from its renewal date, and went on your inactive list. It hasn't been bought by anyone (empty checkbox next to it). I do not want to pay $69 to renew.
Domain first expired: 11/15/15
Entered inactive: 12/22/15

When will the domain drop? How do I best prepare?

Thanks.
Barry

Is this a .ORG domain? The Central Registry generally releases domains 75 days after the expiration date.

what do I do when it drops? I have it on back order. Does it go to auction?

If you backorder with us and we successfully catch the domain, an order will be created in your account. That is, if you are the only backorder request. If multiple people backorder and we catch the domain, it would then go into a private auction between the users who backordered.
