A Domain Suggestion Tool That Works

Finding the perfect domain for your website can be daunting, particularly when there are numerous top-level (TLDs) available. With various options to choose from, it can be a little hectic trying to search for a name that’ll fit well with your personal blog, online shop, or business. Searching through hundreds of options might give anyone a headache, not to mention heaps of frustration. But hopefully, the domain suggestion tool can help alleviate that pain.

Our domain suggestion tool is powered by Verisign's Namestudio API and is an excellent resource to help you find quality and available domain names. To start, navigate to the suggestion page, enter a keyword (or keywords) and the suggestion tool will work its magic by telling you if the .com version of the keyword is taken. If it’s not, excellent(!), you can register that name and the hunt for a good domain is over. However, if it happens to be booked, it’s not the end of the world. The suggestion tool will populate a list of related keywords that are available and you can then scroll through to see which might work for you. Words that are available will be in the color blue while those that aren’t will be grayed out.

In addition to helping replace the keyword(s) you initially searched, the domain suggestion tool will supply a list of prefixes (words that can go before the keyword you entered) and suffixes (words that can go after) giving you a larger pool of options. You can also change the TLD from .com to .net, .cc, or even .tv as shown in the image below:

As you can see, we entered “cakepopshop.com” for our search and the results reported this name as unavailable. The domain suggestion tool didn’t give up, though, and has generated new keywords for “cake”, “pop”, and “shop”. If you decide you don’t want one of the keywords you used, simply click the “X” mark to remove it and the suggestion tool will restart its search. Once you find the name you love, add it to your cart and checkout.

Easy-peasy, right?

Brainstorming for a name is far less complicated when you have a little help. You can absolutely take our word for it, but why not give the domain suggestion tool a try to help find the ideal domain name you’re looking for!
