Stress Awareness Month: Apps to help you manage your time

Samantha Escobar
Apr 16, 2019
April is Stress Awareness Month. It is a month where health professionals and health promoters focus on ways to increase public awareness about the daily stress in society. Taking care of your mental health is vital especially in our modern times. We are often distracted by technology and information being shown to us daily. This month we want to share a few apps that can help you manage your time and stress. Stress is something that should not be ignored; it's best to tackle it early on and cope with it in healthy ways. I wrote a few apps that have helped me manage my stress and time. As a full-time student and working as well my schedules can be overwhelming, but these apps keep me on track when it comes to being mindful and being responsible.

As mentioned before we live in an age of technology where it can be overwhelming and stressful. However, technology has tools that can help you relax and de-stress.

MEDITATE

To meditate is to think deeply or focus one's mind for some time, in silence. Meditation is a form of relaxation for individuals, and it is also a way to practice being mindful. It can be hard to take some time out of your day to meditate, but luckily there's an app for everything now! The greatest apps for mediation are Calm, HeadSpace, Insight Timer, and many more! If you check on the app store, there are a ton of options that will suit what you are looking for in a meditation app

READ

Reading is a great way to de-stress after a long day at work. It's also a good activity to do during your lunch if you're on the bus or train, and before going to sleep. There are many good ways to get your reading in when you have a busy life. If you have an iPhone or Android, you can use the book app to download a great book and always have it on the go! Other great reading apps to take your books anywhere are BookFunnel, Audible, Kindle, Serial Box, and many more! Try some of these apps to incorporate more reading into your busy life! It's a great way to wind down and forget about your troubles

MAKE A TO-DO LIST

Prioritizing things is not as easy as it sounds, especially when you have a busy schedule. Having a crazy to-do list can be overwhelming and might trigger stress. Luckily, there are great apps that can make the to-do lists seem less scary and help you complete your goals by the end of the day. Some of my favorite apps to use are Todoist, Any.do, Wunderlist. All these apps can help you handle the daily task with no trouble. The list will always be with you when you're on the go, and you'll never forget an important task!

These apps are great for individuals who want to manage their time better and work towards a stress-free life. Having a lot of work can be overwhelming, but there are better ways to prioritize your time and manage your stress.
