Last Week's Answers

Easy: Where can you find a list of your inactive domains?
Reward: 10% Off an Order (Max $50)

Answer: To find a list of your inactive domains please follow these steps: 1) Sign in to your Dynadot account. 2) Select "Inactive Domains" from the "Domains" drop-down menu. You can type the domain name in the "Search" box to locate it.

Medium: What is punycode?
Reward: 50% Off Domain Transfer (.COM, .NET, or .ORG)

Answer: Punnycode is a way to represent Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) with the character set (A-Z, 0-9) supported by the domain system. We support many domain extensions that offer IDNs in an assortment of languages. Visit our IDN page to see a list and search for an IDN domain.

Hard: How does proxy bidding work?
Reward: 1 Free Domain Renewal (up to $10)

Answer: Proxy Bidding is used in our expired domain auctions. For example, a domain is in auction with a starting bid price of $12.99. If bidder A places a bid of $20.00 for the domain, our system will start his bid at $12.99 and bid up to $20.00 automatically on his behalf. When bidder B visits the auction and decides to place a bid for $14.00, he will be outbid immediately by bidder A, and the new minimum bid will be $15.00. In order to outbid the first bidder, he would need to bid at least $20.01. If bidder B places a bid for $20.00, which matches bidder A's maximum bid amount, then bidder A would still be the high bidder, but the new minimum bid would be $21.00.

Thank you to everyone who played this week's round of trivia! If you're new to our game, check out our game rules and regulations then play this round!

Medium > Changed your mind about the domain name that you registered? We offer domain grace deletions, allowing you to "return" your domain! Dynadot is proud to support domain tasting by offering domain grace deletions. Domain tasting allows you to try out a domain name - often to test its traffic - before deciding to keep it. Because we offer domain grace deletions, you can register many domains and then only keep the ones you like. For the domains you want to "return" simply submit a grace deletion request.

Hard > You must go to your current domain provider and unlock the domain and receive the auth code (EPP). The unlock process varies by provider but in most cases you go to the panel where it shows your domain with the provider and it should have an opinion to lock/unlock it.

This answer is only partially correct. Please be more specific with the process.

After you unlock the domain you will receive your EPP code. This code you copy and save for later. You then log on to your Dynadot account and look on the side block for "transfer domains". Fill out the required information, including providing the EPP code from earlier. Click the transfer button after this to submit the information. It will take up to 72 hours for it to process the request and your DNS to propagate.

In case this is still relevant. Hard-> Login on your registrar's control panel and head over to the domain listing of the domains you own. Then you should first unlock the domain to make sure it's transferable, afterwards there should be a transfer auth code present, if not then please do contact the registrar support team and ask them for your domain's auth code. Then register on Dynadot if you do not have an account already, if you do then please log in to your Dynadot Control Panel. On Dynadot's control Panel you should have a side block called "Transfer Domain" on the right side of the screen. Please write the domain name you want to transfer to Dynadot in the first input box, in the seconds input box please write the Auth code you received in your previous registrar. Check the "Add privacy" box if you want your domain's information to be private. Then click the "Transfer" button. On this page you will be following the instructions for making the payment required in order to transfer the domain to Dynadot, once finished please allow a few minutes for the system to process your request (this usually takes less than a second but in some cases in may take up to 10 minutes). Was the payment has been processed and your transfer is complete, please allow up to 72 hours for the DNS to propogate and the transfer will be complete.

Thank you very much! :) How do I claim the reward? I've never participated in these trivia games so I apologize for asking such a stupid question.
