2. To prepare the red cocktail, add cranberry juice, tequila, orange-flavored liqueur, simple syrup and lemon juice to cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake. Rub rim of martini glass with lemon wedge; dip in sugar. Strain cocktail into glass.

July 4th Recipes: Red, White, and Blue Sliders (Strawberry Sliders with Blue Cheese Sauce)

Ingredients:
Blue Cheese Sauce
¼ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup sour cream
1 tablespoon white vinegar
4 teaspoons granulated sugar
salt & pepper, to taste

Sliders
2 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
1 lb. ground beef {80/20}

1 cup sliced strawberries
¼ cup chopped sweet onions
lettuce
16 slider rolls or sandwich bread cut out into circles

Top with burger patty, strawberry slices, diced onion, and blue cheese sauce. Top with other half of roll and repeat with the rest. Serve immediately.

3. Red, White, & Blue Cake Batter Muddy Buddies

July 4th Recipes: Red, White, and Blue Cake Batter Muddy Buddies

Ingredients:
5 cups Chex cereal
12 oz vanilla almond bark, melted
1 cup white cake mix
½ cup powdered sugar
1 cup birthday cake M&M's

Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together Chex cereal with melted white chocolate.

2. In a large resealable plastic bag, mix together cake mix and powdered sugar. Add coated cereal to the bag. Seal and shake to coat evenly.

3. Pour on a baking sheet. Spread evenly to cool. Once completely cool, toss with M&M's.

4. Stained Glass Jello

July 4th Recipes: Stained Glass Red, White, and Blue Jello

Ingredients:
4 small (3 oz.) boxes of Jell-O or store brand "gelatin dessert" in different colors (two packages each of strawberry and blueberry work well)
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (such as Knox)

Directions:
1. Make a double batch of each flavor of Jello (a double batch using the two boxes of strawberry, and a double batch using the two boxes of blueberry) according to package instructions. Place in two 9x13-inch pans. Refrigerate until completely chilled.

2. Remove the Jello and use a knife to cut each batch into small squares (½ to 1 inch). Carefully remove all squares from the pans, then mix and layer the blocks into a new 9x13-inch pan.

3. In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin into ½ cup cold water and let it sit for 3 minutes. After the gelatin blooms, add 1 ½ cup boiling water and stir to dissolve. Stir in the can of condensed milk. Then refrigerate mixture for 20-30 minutes until cooled. Pour cooled milk mixture evenly over Jello. If need be, use a toothpick to pop any bubbles that have arisen to the surface (just to make it look smooth). Chill overnight.

4. Use a knife to cut the jello into squares, or use cookie cutters to cut into fun shapes (stars, anyone?) and serve.
