Friday Eight: .CO Adds 8 New IDN Languages

Dynadot
Nov 1, 2013

.CO is one of several domain extensions that supports internationalized domain names (IDNs), or domain names that use characters other than the letters A-Z from the Latin alphabet. IDNs have helped globalize the Internet by allowing more people to access the Internet in their own language. Dynadot is proud to have been one of the first domain registrars to offer IDNs and we're excited to be adding eight new languages to .CO as of today!

Although the Internet was founded on English, only about 10% of the world's population are actually native English speakers, so it's great news that .CO has added these eight additional languages. Before today, .CO already offered nine languages: Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish. As of today, .CO now offers these additional eight languages:

Russian
German
French
Portuguese
Polish
Latvian
Lithuanian
Hungarian

To register a .CO domain in one of these languages (or any languages), visit our IDN search page where you can narrow your search by domain extension. Once you find the IDN you want on .CO, select the corresponding language from the drop down menu and add it to your cart!
