Subject: Do you archive customer's searches, to register them? Pissed off! Date Posted: Mar 24, 2008 9:48pm

Hi the other day I was searching for domains on here, and moniker.com.  15 or so domains I checked out. All of them were available at the time.  This morning I woke up to find 10 were registered overnight by this company below:

Oversee Research and Development, LLC
admin@overseedomainmanagement.com
515 South Flower Street
Suite 4400
Los Angeles, California, 90071
US

I'm guessing it was searching on moniker.com
Does dynadot.com archive searched domains and buy them out?  Just wondering. Thanks.

I found out it was moniker.com who took my names after searching for them.

oversee.net owns moniker.com

don't search for domains on there!  they might take them and register them before you do!

I've only had the misfortune to cross paths with Moniker once. They had registered a domain for one of their clients, some company named Domain Park with an address as either Western Samoa or a Mail Boxes Etc. franchisee in Germany - the corresponding telephone number was an answering machine in Philadelphia and the name itself was similar enough to a mark I'd owned to justify going the UDRP complaint route.

They allowed the domain to be transferred out before the UDRP could be processed. The matter is still unresolved.

I'm not saying they watch your searches, and I'm not saying they don't. I have no idea. Still, I have very little confidence in them and would hesitate to search anything there... much like I wouldn't give an e@mail address to a spam outfit. It just doesn't inspire much confidence, sorry.

the only reason why i searched on moniker is because they have so many other extensions to choose from, and its easier  for me to check what extensions are taken of certain domain names. So it's a bit of a catch 22.

I'll stick with dynadot.com for now.
Moniker.com/Oversee.net can kiss my ass!

Dynadot does not archive customer's searches.
