We are still working out some problems connecting to the ASIA central registry. Once the problems are resolved, we should be ready to start registering ASIA domains.
There may be some delays after you place your order. It will be a couple of days before all the bugs are worked out. |

From the .ASIA central registry:
Dear .ASIA Registrars,
There have been a number of inquiries regarding the "domainCheck" functionality at the registry.
For all Reserved Names that are not activated, EPP domainCheck will respond saying that the name is "available". This is correct because a registrar can submit an SR1 application to activate the reserved name for its customer.
The .ASIA Reserved Names Policies require that the list of Governmental Reserved Names not be published as a list. Instead, a reserved name will be clearly marked as reserved through the WHOIS.
DotAsia suggests the following as an appropriate approach for determining the "availability" of .ASIA domains for general registration:
In order to determine the availability of a .ASIA domain, utilise - EPP domainCheck - WHOIS query (port 43: whois.nic.asia)
This will provide information on whether a name is: - available for general registration - available for government-related organizations to activate
A registrar can then use this information to present to its customer whether or not a name is available.
The registry will continue to monitor the situation and look into what other measures are appropriate. Please contact. ASIA Technical Support should you have any comments or questions regarding this.
Sincerely,
.ASIA Technical Support |

ASIA names are working now. Some things to notice:
1. Any registered domains will be in "need_init" status. You will not be able to set name servers. We are working to fix this problem.
2. Some names that look available are actually not. See the previous post. Our system will give you an account credit if this happens to you. |

I have just registered a .ASIA domain via dynadot.com after checking its availability from other sources.
Now when I point my browser to my Domain It goes to Dynadot.com |
