Subject: Affiliate links? Date Posted: Jul 4, 2008 3:04am

Is Dynadot considering implementing an affiliate program whereby I could place a dynadot link/graphic on my site and receive a share of the resulting revenue? I think this would be a good idea, and I would certainly take part.

go to your account > My Info > Referral log

check your referral ID, mine is 9M6z8X7w6f9E7T7E
my link for referrals is http://www.dynadot.com/?s9M6z8X7w6f9E7T7E

makes sense? if not then simply go to My Info > Recommend Dynadot, and recommend yourself dynadot's services, maybe signup twice and spend 2xMORE :-)

sure it works trust me, there are some conditions for you to get credit, like the referral to spend a certain amount or i think it is, check the faq

to test it, not sure on your browser but, close all browser windows, open a new windows and go to your browser's preferences, clear up cookies, close and reopen browser, go to this link
http://www.dynadot.com/?s9M6z8X7w6f9E7T7E
look at your browser's cookies, you will see now a ref_id variable holding my referral id in it
clear up your browser's cookies and have fun, it works

hmm. the cookie contains:
ref_id: s9M6z8X7w6f9E7T7E
What's that 's' doing there at the start of the referrer id?

And why can't I find this URL syntax documented on the Dynadot site anywhere? Does Dynadot condone posting their 'refer a friend' URLs all over the web at the possible expense of their profits, (could this contravene their policies?) or is this encouraged?

Perhaps an actual Dynadot representative could clear this up?

Refer-a-Friend

  1. What is the Refer-a-Friend program?
  2. What is a referral code?
  3. How many friends can I refer?
  4. How will you know which orders came from my friends?

1. What is the Refer-a-Friend program?

Much of our new business comes from customers that tell their friends about Dynadot. We want to reward our customers that help our business grow. Therefore we have created a referral program.

If you refer a friend to Dynadot, then you will receive an account credit of 10% of the cost of their first order. For example, your friend places an order for $10. Then you will receive an account credit of $1, which you can use for any Dynadot service.

To take advantage of this program, just tell your friends to enter your referral code when they place an order. Your referral code can be found inside your account.

2. What is a referral code?

The referral code is a unique number assigned to your account. If you refer a friend to Dynadot, then you will receive an account credit of 10% of the cost of their first order

To find your referral code, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Dynadot account.
  2. Click on the "My Info" tab.
  3. Click on the "Referral Log" link in the submenu to go to the "Referral Log" page.

Your referral code should be displayed in bold text here.

3. How many friends can I refer?

There is no limit to how many friends you refer and how many credits you can earn.

4. How will you know which orders came from my friends?

When we send your friend the "Recommend Dynadot" email, we include a special link that will set a cookie in your friends browser. When your friend places their order, the cookie will tell us that you should get an account credit.

If the cookie can not be set for some reason, we also provide a referral code that your friend can enter manually while placing an order.

jamal_jo, that link you posted isn't your referral link.

From Help Section: Dynadot Policies > Refer-a-Friend > What is a referral code?

your actual referral link is http://www.dynadot.com/?s6L9KM7bX8u7w7g or the referral code 6L9KM7bX8u7w7g
