How can I create information on .tel domains.
Like for example here: http://www.home.tel/
Records: website, email and others.
Does domain privacy work for .tel domains. Does it look the same like for .com. |

There are two types of privacy for TEL domains. Dynadot's privacy and TEL's privacy. You can use either of them or both of them.
You can view an example of what .TEL's privacy looks like by downloading their PDF file and looking at pages 14 and 15.
http://telnic.org/downloads/Whois_Policy.pdf
To set up your .TEL domain, please follow these steps:
How do I set up my TEL domain?
To set up your TEL domains, you need to create a Telhost account. A Telhost account is required, otherwise your TEL domain will not be added to the .TEL zone file and will not resolve.
You can create a Telhost account by:
- Logging into your Dynadot account.
- Click on the "Domains" tab.
- Then click on the "TLD Settings" link in the submenu.
- Now click on the "TEL Domain Settings" link on the right side of the page.
- Enter in a username, password, and email address for your Telhost account.
Now you can sign into your Telhost Account Area at https://telhost.dynadot.com with the username and password you created. For your domain to appear online you need to create at least one contact in the Telhost Account Area for your domain. After that is done, it can take 6-12 hours for the domain to start working.
You can also log into your Telhost Acccount Area by clicking on a link of a TEL domain on the "Manage Domain Names" page. There is a "Telhost Account" box containing the same signin information. From Help Section: Account Management > Domain Settings > How do I set up my TEL domain? |

Thank you for your answer and I have few more questions, so I could understand tel domains rules.
1) How can I transfer domains between: - registrars - dynadot accounts How much does it cost.
2) What are the main important differents between .com and .tel domains to manage them.
Can I change ma email address and telephone number in my whois record like for com domains.
3) Can I create an account directly on http://telnic.org
4) Is there any different between Telhost accounts on Dynadot and Telnic.org to set up my TEL domains.
5) The most important: If I would like somebody to work for me and set up my TEL domains, how can I protect my TEL domain (not to transfer or smth like that). Should I create one domain = one account. What would be the best solution for that.
6) How many TEL domains have been already registered.
7) Using Dynadot privacy it will be only visible a Registrant Name, using TEL's privacy will be the same, is it right. Will be there any differents. Where I set up TEL's privacy and how much does it cost.

1) A .TEL domain transfer is basically the same as a .COM transfer. You need to unlock the domain and get the transfer code. The cost to transfer a TEL domain to Dynadot is $10.99
To push a domain, you'd follow these steps:
http://www.dynadot.com/help/question.html?aid=89
2) To change the WHOIS details for your domain, you just need to edit the Contact Record
http://www.dynadot.com/help/question.html?aid=18
3) No, you can only set up your account through your Registrar.
5) I can't really answer that question for you. However, if you were to set up one domain in one account, you might find that you are overwhelmed with TEL username / password combinations.
6) TELnic links to an article on their site that indicates that as of May 22, over 200,000 .TEL domains have been registered.
7) If you use our privacy, the Central Registry doesn't have any of your contact information. If you just use their privacy, they do have your contact information, they simply hide it. For those who would prefer that the Registry not have their contact details, they might opt to use our privacy.
You can OPT out of TEL's privacy by following these steps:
http://www.dynadot.com/help/question.html?aid=197

Thank you for your answer, I have started to register and manage TEL domains.
1) Telhost Login Information
Should Telhost Username and Password be the same like for my Dynadot account or can I create different. How do I log into my Telhost account.
Will I use this Username and Password only for my Dynadot Telhost account, or somwhere else. Will this date be only on the Dynadot server or also on the Telnic server. How doest it work, I think about TEL domain setup. For example Eurid create additional account for EU domains.
What is it with my TEL domain setup when I transfer a domain to an another register. Do I use the same Username and Password then.
2) Are there any differences between Dynadot and other registrars accounts to set up TEL domains.
3) Can I use tools from tel-machine.com and other sites to set up TEL domains on my Dynadot account. http://www.tel-machine.com/eng_English.html Could you recommend any sites with tools to set up TEL domains.
4) When I transfer a TEL domain between my own Dynadot accounts should I need an auth-info code. Do I pay a renew then.
5) What are the rules for transfering TEL domains - after registrering and before expiring. How many days after registrering and also before expiring can I transfer TEL domains.

And more:
Is it possible to lock a domain with a password.
Is a password the same for all my account, or it could be different for each domain.
Is it any differences at locking domains between COM and TEL domains. |

Re "What's a .tel domain for?"
A .tel is for communications. It's a contacts hub for all the ways people can contact you.
- For a small business or a professional, a .tel is their online business card that will never be out of date because they can update it on the go; take a look at removals.tel or appleseed.tel
- For a person, a .tel is an online presence without the need to host or maintain a website, with the additional benefit of controlling who can access private data on a per-person basis; take a look at henri.tel or radiology.tel
- For a large company, a .tel is a mobile-optimized online resource that can lead their customers to support contacts quickly and easily; see nestle.tel or ponyexpress.tel
- For everybody, .tel can be a useful service that you can easily access; such as cancel.tel to quickly block your lost credit car or sos1.tel to connect to an emergency help line anywhere in the world
One of .tel slogans is 'With one touch, you're in touch' so a .tel domain is really for connecting with people and organizations. |
